Leah Furst, LCSW

Clinical Director - Fairfield Location (She/Her)

Hi, I’m Leah! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Connecticut and New York. I have extensive experience working with adults throughout the lifespan, as well as teens and families. I specialize in treating anxiety, relationship issues, major life transitions, parenting issues, grief and spiritual issues including religious trauma.

I take a multimodal approach to treatment in order to best fit each client’s unique situation and needs. To best understand and support the complexities of each individual, I utilize a psychodynamic lens in combination with components from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy and others such as Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT). This dynamic approach is all about helping you understand how past experiences impact your current mental and emotional functioning while building practical skills to create meaningful change.

So what can you expect from our sessions? I know that starting therapy for the first time can feel daunting and take tremendous courage, so it’s my goal to set you at ease from our first meeting. My style is laid back, and allows conversation to flow organically. I always want therapy to be a safe and comfortable space where you can feel empowered to be the most authentic version of you! I’m a firm believer in the healing power of connection, empathy, and trust, but there may also be times I will challenge you to move outside your comfort zone. You deserve to live out of the fullest, healthiest version of yourself and I would be honored to support you along that journey!

So find your comfiest chair, grab a cup of coffee and sign on! I can’t wait to meet you!
