LGBTQ+ Therapy

Honoring Ourselves

Online Therapy in Missouri and Online/In-person in Connecticut

By and large LGBTQ+ lives are disproportionately affected by bullying, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicide, and so this may be a part of your personal identity that is difficult to explore. Small Victories wants to offer you a safe place to be who you are, or become who it is you are blossoming into.

You may already know your sexual orientation, romantic orientation, and/or gender identity, or you may be at a complete loss, only just beginning to question how much you’ve been honoring yourself and your truth. No matter where you are in your journey of self-discovery and self-love, Small Victories is here to receive you warmly.

Small Victories is a service you can rely on for consistent, inclusive care, and a safe place for you to explore, flourish, and blossom.

Depression is depression, anxiety is anxiety, regardless of any other traits we possess, but sexual and romantic orientation can absolutely affect our interpersonal relationships, ideas and hopes for our futures and selves, and can color every corner of our lives. Treating trauma, or disordered behavior or thoughts is so intrinsically tied to identity, romantic and sexual orientation inevitably play a role in the decisions we make, and what treatment styles work best.

Having an LGBTQ+ orientation does not inherently mean there is trauma associated with that, but it helps when counselors are aware and sensitive to the specific challenges LGBTQ+ folks face. There are vast social differences and varying social consequences across cultures and subcultures.

We offer well-trained, well-educated counselors who will approach your unique challenges with multicultural lenses, and provide the comfort and assurances LGBTQ+ folks need most.

The greatest hope of Small Victories is that you heal from past hurts, embrace all you are, and pursue everything you want for yourself. Therapy is all about bettering your life, for yourself, and that means that having a good understanding of who you are, what you want, and what you want your life to look like is paramount.

People of all orientations and genders are welcome at Small Victories. While healing from trauma, processing conflicts, managing expectations, changing standards, and all that comes with therapy, you will be heard, seen, and validated.

We promise to meet you with kindness, respect, compassion and empathy, and we promise to give you an unlimited space to be unapologetically, your truest self.

Quality care should be accessible to everyone, at all times, for all genders and people of all orientations, and LGBTQ+ matters are always considered in counseling here at Small Victories. You deserve encouragement, and dignity at all times, and conflicts or traumas specific to LGBTQ+ issues will be treated with the utmost sensitivity, and unwavering belief.

Whether your identity and/or orientation is at the root of experiences or challenges bringing you to therapy, or whether you just want to know you and the unique challenges you bring with you are being handled with your identity and/or orientation in mind, Small Victories will meet you where you are.

Where you are may be at the beginning, middle or tail end of your journey in self-discovery, but wherever you are, we can help as much as you’d like us to. We promise to meet you with kindness, respect, compassion and empathy, and we promise to give you an unlimited space to be unapologetically, your truest self.

Small Victories is a service you can rely on for consistent, inclusive care, and a safe place for you to explore, flourish, and blossom.
