Sarah Cornell-Maier

Clinical Psychology Trainee, Middletown Location (She/They)

Existing as a member of society right now is exhausting. Trying to balance things like school, work, family, friends, and relationships can be overwhelming. You may be struggling to find ways of coping that address strong emotions. I would love to help you take a step back to look at your life and figure out ways to make the load lighter. There is no one who knows your mind better than you do, but sometimes even just verbalizing your struggles can help you understand new ways to approach them.

Adding identity-related difficulties onto your already filled plate can feel like too much, yet we don’t have to sacrifice our own self-discovery for the sake of practicality. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist I am here to support your growth and self-exploration in a safe and non-judgmental environment. We don’t exist in a bubble and major events in our communities and world can have an impact on your mental health. I am continually working to better understand the influence of systems of power and oppression on our lives and strive to integrate that perspective into my work.

As a therapist I don’t pull from a singular approach- I am here to find what works best for you and your mind. Each aspect of your life comes together to create a unique experience, and we can explore that together while figuring out the things that are effective for you. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
