Krystle Hanewicz, LMFT

Connecticut Telehealth Team (She/Her)

Hi there! I’m Krystle, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in working with children, adolescents and families impacted by anxiety, depression, attachment disruption and trauma. Whether you are a parent seeking strength-based, trauma informed support for your child, a family looking to develop healthy communication skills or an adult taking steps towards your own healing and personal growth, I am here to support you on your journey through our ever changing world.

It is my wish that everyone has the opportunity to surround themselves with a circle of unconditional, nonjudgemental, empathetic supports to share in our celebrations as much as our struggles. It is important to me that individuals that I connect with feel heard and validated, that families feel supported in overcoming barriers and developing healthy attachments, and that everyone has access to a safe space to process traumatic experiences and develop self-actualization skills.

As a therapist, I utilize a systemic approach with a mindfulness and trauma informed framework (ARC). I also recognize talk therapy isn’t for everyone and incorporate drama and play therapy (Rehearsals for Growth) to support engagement and provide an inclusive outlet for personal expression. I have 14 years of experience working with children with autism including residential settings and intensive in-home services for high risk youth and families throughout Connecticut. I also recognize and appreciate the role pets play in our lives and the complex grief the loss of a pet can leave us with. As an animal rescue volunteer, I recognized the need for therapists who can address pet bereavement and have specialized experience in helping animal professionals address compassion fatigue. Together we can work towards setting and accomplishing healthy goals.
