Carrie Veillette, LCSW
Connecticut Telehealth Team (She/Her)
I’m Carrie, a clinical social worker specializing in long-term management and support of severe mental illnesses (SMI) such as bipolar disorder and other psychotic spectrum disorders. I use evidence-based interventions such as CBT and CBTp (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to provide support for individuals living with SMI.
I also incorporate a variety of additional evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing, mindfulness, DBT and solution-focused therapy to provide support for older adolescents and adults (18+) managing anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal challenges, substance use and stress management. My therapeutic approach to addressing interpersonal challenges focuses on attachment theory and values clarification.
I am a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ population, and throughout my career have been an advocate for racial justice and social change. I practice from a trauma informed place of care and provide trauma focused therapy where desired. I look forward to working with clients from all walks of life and supporting an individual’s personal goals for wellness and quality of life improvement.
